The mission of Music Is Bliss is to educate, empower, and support others (regardless of race, culture, gender or background) to live their best lives through the power of music.

We stand with those who have been oppressed, and are committed to creating a better world, one in which racism, injustice, and prejudice have no place.

For this reason, I've chosen to use my website, blog, and social media channels to spread awareness, educate, and speak up against injustice, to help us all learn how we can take action and catalyze change now.

I do not pretend to be an expert, and acknowledge in myself, and in our community, that we have a lot of learning (and unlearning) to do. My team and I are working to transform not just our consciousness, but the institutional, cultural, and societal conditions that have actively created unjust systems. We are committed to make a difference by raising awareness, voting and changing laws, bridging divides, calling out indifferences and abuse, and embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We invite you to make a commitment with us to go deeper in your listening, to learn how to unravel centuries of old racial programming, and to take action steps towards making lasting change.

In Solidarity and Love,

Jhing and the MiB Team

Here are a few resources that we have found helpful in our own journey, and we hope you will too:

  • Find the mental health care and trauma support you need

  • Learn about police violence and anti-racism in America

  • Take steps and lend support to encourage reform

  • Connect with organizations on the front lines of social justice

  • Resources: including protests, where to register to vote, resources for caregivers, and more

  • Education: books, movies, podcasts and more to help educate you on the current state or history of racial injustice.

  • Charities: donate and contribute to the cause

  • Petitions: discover the various petitions to sign and support

  • Businesses: black owned businesses to support

As parents, many of us wonder whether to talk to young children about race and racism. Some parents do it from day one, some wait, and many struggle with how to tackle such a complex topic with babies and little children just beginning to understand the world. How do we start working towards anti-bias and anti-racism so early? For more info CLICK HERE.

Black Lives Matter Explained:

Let me be clear: stating that black lives matter doesn't insinuate that other lives don't...

If a patient being rushed to the ER after an accident were to point to their mangled leg and say, “This is what matters right now,” and the doctor saw the scrapes and bruises of other areas and countered, “but all of you matters,” wouldn’t there be a question as to why he doesn't show urgency in aiding that what is most at risk? At a community fundraiser for a decaying local library, you would never see a mob of people from the next city over show up angry and offended yelling, “All libraries matter!”—especially when theirs is already well-funded.
